i got a notice yesterday from my webhost informing me the site was exploited by a phishing scam, someone hacked into an older script on the server and put up some paypal scam. phuckers! my webhost disabled 10eastern - i took care of the problem immediately and sent several emails, they never responded or re-enabled the site . . so i did it myself. this may anger them, i'm not sure, but either way no response 24 hours after fixing the problem is a little excessive. sorry bout the outage y'alls
oh yes, backups are go. actually it's default with my webhost, and I sync with the image folder once a month locally so they're on me hard disk. i just thought about how much stuff i have on hard drives that scares me if it were lost or burned in a fire or something . . . i just started thinking about using some online storage service to upload things to, like the draws here and my hundreds of gigabytes of songs i've made etc, things that can't be replaced if lost locally, or worst case, on a rented server. kind of paranoid sounding i guess, but these things must happen to people!
puhh thank god, i already thought of some serious downtime. i made a backup once of the first 20k pics, it was easily accesable through the <a href="http://10e.com/drawringsfolder">10e.com/drawringsfolder</a> i think.
i've just checked it and some strange things occured. i found some pics i couldn't remember saving. e.g.

does oekaki make some sort of backup to the server cache while you're drawing?
correct me if i'm wrong and i've just overlooked or forgotten these.
that would be a little bit scary since i used it for all kinds of stuff ;)

All of these were drawings that firefox failed to submit with the 'Sending data...' forever problem. So, I guess they did send, but something else didn't fire off afterwards.
(also, does html work in the comment box?)
that's strange about the corral of draws without a home, i wonder what caused the server to save it but not post . . . those are pretty cool looking too!
